Abstract
The mean percentages of CBD infection in July on a wide range of unsprayed Coffea arabica selections at the Coffee Research Station,Ruiru (Altitude 1659 m) have been compared with various meteorological conditions prevailing between April and June in the years 1966 to 1973.Infection just failed to be significantly correlated with total rainfall occurring in these months but it was correlated with the: number of rain days, especially those with 1.0 mm or more rain (r = 0.94, P = 0.001) and the best correlation was obtained with periods having 5h or more of wetness (r = 0.96, P = 0.001).The correlation was less significant when only wet periods above 15°C were considered.
