Abstract
Sir,-All previously described strains Df Theileria parva have been shown to be highly pategemic for cattle of exotic breeds. The case mortality rate for Dur laboratory strain, when high-grade cattle were infected, was 96 per cent., and III South Africa the mortality rate in calves was more than 95 per cent. In exceptional cases it may be as low as 78 per cent. (Neitz, 1957). This high case morality rate has led veterinarians and farmers III Africa to believe any treatment that is followed by recovery to be curative
