Abstract
Recreation and wildlife put demands on resources; natural resources, human resources and capital. Often these resources can be put to use in producing other things, and hence there is an economic cost involved in providing the recreation and wildlife. The economic cost is the value of ,the other goods and services sacrificed in order to have r·ecreation and wildlife.
