Abstract
Rhodes grass (Chloris gay ana, Kunth) is a popular ley grass in Kenya due to its wide climatic and soil adaptation. The cultivar Elmba has desirable characteristics that include persistence to frequent grazing, early flowering and high dry matter yield per hectare. The objective of the current study was to determine the effect of stocking rate on the productivity of Elmba Rhodes grass in form of available dry matter, yearling Boran cattle daily gain and beef yield per hectare.
