Abstract
The word "spontaneous" is often applied to the activity of tsetse in the field without it being certain that such activity is not environmentally stimulated. During a laboratory study of circulation rhythms in adult tsetse however, it has now been possible to confirm that files move in the near environmental vacuum of constant temperature, humidity, darkness, noise and, probably smell.
