Abstract
A GROUP of cattle, immunised against Theileria parva (Muguga) by chemoprophylaxis, was exposed, un dipped, for 60 days in a paddock where a high level T par va (Muguga) infected tick challenge had been established. They were exposed together with three successive groups of East Coast fever (ECF) susceptible cattle. The immunised animals survived the challenge with minimal reactions, whilst all the susceptible animals died from acute ECF.
