Abstract
At the request of Mr. R. Hangenouw, Officer in charge of the Kenya. Inspection Service for Seeds (K.I.S.) at Lanet (Nakuru) a site to evaluation was carried out at three sites to determine suitable site for a new station of the K.I.S. The land of the new station is to be used "to grow post-control plots from samples taken dur1ne certification in the various seed processing plants". Crops to be grown, using overhead irrigrtion, ore wheat, barley, oats, no.1ze, herbage crops, sunflower, beans, potatoes, sorghum and horticultural crops. The investigation of sites A and B was carried out of the beginning of September 1976; site C was however investigated of the end of the Anne month. The actual soil observations were carried out by two T.A.'s of the K.S.S.: Mr. R, Muriuki and Mr. E. Kinyanjui. Visits to the plots were made by R.F Van de Weg on three occasions.
