Abstract
The bulk of commercial cashew production in Nigeria is, confined to the southern part of the savanna zone with an annual rainfall range of between 1000 mm and 2000 mm. The cashew is grown on poor types 'Of soils including lateritic, sandy and acid soils. The soils are usually low in 'Organic matter and nutrients and unsuitable for the economic production of some other crops
