Abstract
A previously unrecorded insect, M alaxodes farinosus of the tribe Tropidocephalini (Fulgoroidea: Delphacidae), none of whose members are listed as vectors, carries a pathogen that causes a new disease of molasses grass (Melinis minutiflora). The pathogen is not sap-, dodder-, or seed-transmitted.
