Abstract
London, July 5, 1957: The pending devaluation Of the Colombian peso and the approach of new crop offerings from Brazil. Induced some uncertainty in World coffee make during the first half of the past month. The initial effect of the long awaited currency reform in Colombia was an easing of the market for Mild coffee as Colombian offerings increased and roasters sought out the cheaper offerings. Thereafter, prices of Mild’s fluctuated fairly narrowly and, over the month, Colombians showed an easing of three to four cents a pound at New York.
