Abstract
An initial survey of the prevalence of Ureaplasma diversum infection in the reproductive tract was done in order to better define the role of the organism in granular vulvitis in Saskatchewan cattle. Subsequently the immune response of vaccinated or unvaccinated, maiden heifers to genital infection with U. diversum was studied with respect to (a) the temporal pattern of antibodies in serum and vaginal secretions, and (b) the efficacy of vaccination.
