Abstract
In Northern Tanzania, the major setback to increased coffee production, remains Coffee Berry Disease (CBO) caused by Colletotrichutn cofJeanum. Efforts to breed a Variety, among the Coffea arabica group, resistant to the virulent strain of C. coffeanum appear to be far from any immediate success. Under such circumstances, research on new effective fungicide and investigations on reported, resistance of this fungus to some .of the recommended chemicals become eminent in order to safeguard the coffee crop which is so far the most highly priced agricultural product in Tanzania.
