Abstract
The rainfall patterns recorded at 50 selected weather stations in Kenya have been studied over the longest p08sible period or time, and the results are presented in this Working Document in terms of probabilities. The emphasis is on quartiles, rather than mean values, because it is felt they provide a better basis for evaluating the climatic risks involved in livestock production. An initial simple presentation of the climatic situation is given visually in the form of graphs of annual rainfall probabilities. More detailed data are presented in tables. Comments and practical examples are also provided, designed to help the non-specialist build up an understanding of climate-related production factors.
