Abstract
The concentration of hemoglobin in the blood of British cattle has been placed at around U•5 g. per 100 mI. by AIlcroft and U•3 g. by Holman (1955). Although considerable information also exists regarding the blood picture of zebu cattle in the tropics the results to date are somewhat confusing, the reported hemoglobin levels varying from 13•8 g. in cattle in Uganda to 7•4 g. for Kumaoni bullocks in India.
