Abstract
The Project Area, known as the Lower Farm, comprises about 775 hectares (1915 acres) between the railway line and Lake Naivasha. It is about 3 miles on the Gilgil side of Naivasha township and some It miles from the lower reaches of the Melawa River. Between the Lower Farm and the Melawa are lands belonging to the Marula Estate. The Eastern side of the Project area is bounded by Manera Farm. The South western extremity of the project area is marked by papyrus swamp and the lakeshore. The precise extent of the area is dependent upon the continually fluctuating level of the Lake.
