A weed is defined as any plant growing where it is not wanted. This implies that in a coffee farm, other plants growing there are essentially undesirable and should be eradicated.Weeds range from easily controlled annual grasses and broad leaved weeds such as black jack, pigweed, gallant soldier etc,to more persistent perennial grasses such as kikuyu grass and couch grass.
