Abstract
ChanuJecrista rotundifolia accessions are persistent and productive under grazing and clipping (Strickland et al., 1985; Tarawali, 1991), acceptable to cattle (Strickland el al., 1985) and have moderate nutritive value compared to alfafa (Ahn et al., 1988). However, only one cultivar (C. rotundifolia cv Wynn) derived from introduction CP 134721 from Brazil has been released to date (Skerman et al., 1988). Screening of more genetic material is needed to identify new promising accessions. This paper is a summary of agronomic assessment of 16 C.rotundifolia accessions in Southern Ethiopia.
