Abstract
The East African Common Services Organization which replaced the East Africa High Commission came into being on 9th December, 1961. Under the Constitution the governing body ultimately responsible for the policy of the Organization is the East African Common Services Authority. The Constitution has had to be amended during the year to take account of the independent status of Uganda as from 9th October, 1962, and the establishment of a Republic In Tanganyika on 9th December, 1962. The Authority now consists of the President or Vice-President of Tanganyika, the Prime Minister of Uganda and the two Kenya Ministers of State, who alternate at the deliberations of the Authority.
