Abstract
FROM April to June 1968, a number of observations were made at Muguga, near Nairobi, Kenya, on the direction of flight of insects at night in relation to that of the wind. The work was mostly carried out during periods of varying length between 21.00 and 22.30 hours, but on one occasion between 01.20 and 02.00 hours. The insects were shown up by the beam of an Aldis lamp, directed vertically upwards, placed on the roof of a car. The site was an exposed one, with a low building on the south side.
