Abstract
Orgyill mix/a Snell. is a tussock moth of a widespread distribution in tropical Africa. It was first described by Snellen (1872). It has been recorded from "Lower Guinea and German East Africa" (Hering, 1930), on tea, cotton and tung in Malawi (Smee, 1939), on Ricinlls communis in Tanzania, on Zizipltus sp. in Uganda (Le Pelley, 1959) and as a pest of Cacao in Ghana (Smith, 1965). O. mixta has been found defoliating ClipresslIs lindleyi near Zomba in Malawi (Malawi Dept. of Forestry and Game, 1969).
