While six Research Officers returned from their overseas training in U.K., having been awarded the degree of Master of 'Science, two more officers were sent to the same country to study for MSc. in the N- areas of specialization. The Department was also lucky to see two Research Officers, Dr. E. Mushi and Dr. P. Rossiter get an award of the Doctor of Philosophy degree. The training of Officers in Britain has been possible through scholarships provided by the British Government and for which, this Department is greatly indebted. During the same period under review, the Department recruited five more Research Scientists, all of whom graduated from the University of Nairobi, Faculty 'Of Veterinary Medicine. One technologist, J. M. Simwa also joined 'the Department on transfer. Our Research programmes, therefore, in Helminth'Ology, Bacteriology. Virology. Protozoology.
