Abstract
Wind erosion is the transport of soil material by wind. As the material which is transported is of rather fine texture, not only mineral matter, but also organic particles may be involved, constituting often the source of the chemical and physical fertility of the land. Sometimes the erosion is concentrated in a relative small area, and then the effect on agriculture can be severe. Sometimes the deposition is concentrated in a small area and then also the effect on] agriculture can be damaging. Deposition can take place in a rather uniform cover, or in more concentrated form like dunes.
