Abstract
Fence posts of ,Blue Gum (Eucalyptus globulus) and Saligna Gum (E. saligna) treated with a 2 percent solution of Wolman Salts are still in good condition after standing seven years in proximity to an active termite nest in red coffee soil near Nairobi. Untreated posts of the same trees were attacked by termites within a short time after placing in the ground, and after three years were no longer serviceable as fence posts.
