Abstract
The pasture grasses most widely used in Kenya's medium altitudes include Nandi Setaria, Rhodes grass, Guinea grass and Star grass. Star grass IS an erratic seeder, its seed is difficult to obtain and it is normally propagated from splits or rooting stolons (Bogdan, 1965). NandI Setaria and Rhodes grass are usually established from seed but can be propagated vegetatively if seed is scarce or expensive (Bogdan, 1965).
