Abstract
Advantage has been taken of an unprecedented outbreak of Coffee Berry Disease at the Coffee Research Station, Ruiru, Kenya, to do a preliminary screening of a large number of coffee varieties for resistance to the disease. The variety Rume Sudan exhibits a high degree of resistance and the variety Geisha 10 has moderate resistance. In addition to the resistance afforded by the cuticle it is possible that the berries of Rume Sudan have some internal resistance.
