Abstract
The objective of the research activities at the Cotton Research Station Kibos during 1930 wus to investigate the major constraintsin cotton cultivation. The constraints are classified as agronomic, breeding and pest. Thus, there were investisations on varieties, soil fertility, weed control, intercorpping and pest control. Weather data on rainfall, temperature, relative humidity, radiation, evaporation, sunshine hours and wind speed were recorded. A light trap and a pheromone trap for armyworm (Spodoptera sp) forecastinG were operated. The station undertook extension and advisory work for farmers through conducted tours, agricultural shows nnd short courses for agricultural extension staff and visiting students. The station also undertook maintenance and repair work on cotton spraying equipment from the farmers in Western Kenya •
