In the fertile valleys and on the lower slopes of Mount Elgon, westwards of the Kenya-Uganda boundary, an Arabica coffee industry of recent development flourishes. Thirty years ago Arabica coffee was unknown there, but by the end of 1936 over six thousand acres had been planted
