Abstract
'Ole analysis of the intensities of rainfall in tropical storms over urban areas was the major objective of the East African Rainfall Project, Which was established jointly by the Transport and Road Research Laboratory, the Department of Geography, King's College, London, And the East African Meteorological Department, in 1964. Three dense networks of autographic rain gauges were set out in Kampala, Nairobi and Dar es Salaam. Synchronous recordings began in late 1968, and observations were terminated in March, 1973.
