Abstract
The Kenya Agricultural Research Institute continues to evolve into a dynamic Institution that embraces science, technology and innovativeness in its effort towards conducting quality research whose products could transform the livelihoods of many. The Institute, in the year of reporting partnered with many stakeholders to realize its mission. A notable development was the recognition of KARl Naivasha, our leading centre in livestock research, as a "Dairy Centre of Excellence" for 10 member countries of ASARECA. Additionally, KARl Njoro continued to host the global wheat testing site against stem rust. Over 30 countries visit this site annually to monitor their entries against wheat stem rest, ug99. As we take pride in this, we should realize that this comes with challenges which we have to overcome.
