Abstract
The Gender Task Force within the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARl) started a series of workshops to sensitize scientists on gender as an important variable in targeting clients in agricultural research. Five gender training sessions were organized in 1996/97. The experiences with these workshops were reviewed and a proposal for a revised training module, developed by a team of the AD-RRCs Office, was discussed during a workshop held in Katumani in October 1997. This training module was more oriented towards agricultural research and extension, emphasizing practical application of gender considerations in the work of the individual researcher and extensionist.
