Abstract
. A vegetation survey was conducted on a4, 800-km2 tract of semi-arid rangeland in south Maasailand, Tanzania. Subsistence pastoralism was the main form of land-use, but the area also encompassed the wet season habitat of Tarangire Park ungulates and harbored a smaller number of resident wildlife
