Abstract
The Larger Grain Borer (LGB), Prostephanus truncatus, is a beetle pest of stored maize and cassava that is endemic in Meso-America. Following accidental introduction several years ago, LGB is now established in Tanzania and in some neighbouring countries (Burundi, Kenya and northern Malawi). To date, the beetle has not been recorded in Mozambique.
